Financial Aid for 2024-2025
- Current and prospective student looking for financial aid for the 2024-2025 academic year should complete the 2024-2025 FAFSA. The UMass Lowell priority filing deadline is March 1. Information on changes to the 2024-2025 FAFSA form is available on the FAFSA Simplification page
Update: The Department of Education has implemented a solution for students who were unable to submit a FAFSA due to a contributor not having a Social Security Number. Students should follow the guidance issued by the Department of Education to ensure they encounter no additional errors.
- All FAFSA contributors should have a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID prior to completing the 2024-2025 FAFSA. Contributors without a Social Security number can now create an FSA-ID for the 2024-2025 filing year. The National Association of Student Financial Administrators have provided instructions in two languages:
Update: If an applicant fails the TransUnion identity match a case number will now be automatically assigned to the individual. Once the case number is assigned FSA will send them a verification email with their case number, which will include guidance on how to submit acceptable documentation to verify identity. Individuals will also be required to submit an attestation and validation of identity form along with their approved identity documentation. This form will be available on federal website forms library.

- Current students looking for financial aid for the current 2023-2024 academic year and summer should complete the 2023-2024 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

- Request Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID) for you and your parent/guardian to sign the FAFSA

- Avoid delays by using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (DRT) on the 2023-2024 FAFSA to report tax information.
